根据“新英格兰医学杂志”发布的2017年报告,20岁以下的美国约有208,000人被诊断患有糖尿病。

血管死亡风险较高

为此,马利亚诺教授和研究小组审查了1997年至2011年间被诊断为2型糖尿病的743,709人。

由于这些人都是在澳大利亚的国家糖尿病服务计划中注册的,研究人员可以获得有关死亡原因的数据。

平均而言,在研究期间,人们在59岁时得到诊断,共记录了115,363人死亡。

“因此,”他们继续说道,“对于早发型2型糖尿病患者来说,增加临床注意力是必不可少的。”

研究人员补充说:“工作重点应放在及时优化个人自我管理技能和药物治疗,以预防或减少并发症和合并症的发生。”
