研究是一个回顾性研究,评估了2013年至2019年在奥地利圣波尔滕大学医院将VSB耦合到RW患者的短期和长期临床表现(听觉结果)和安全性(修正/移出)。结果分析中,研究人员将样本分为短期检查组(随访<12个月)和长期检查组(随访>12个月),并对有胆脂瘤和无胆脂瘤的受试者的累积生存结果分别进行了分析。研究人员共调查了46名患者,长期随访时间均值为31.43个月(13-75个月)。共有7名胆脂瘤患者(15.2%)报告了需要修正手术的并发症,无胆脂瘤的受试者无并发症(0%)。残余听力不受VSB手术的影响。Freiburger单音节言语测试的单词理解能力在65dB(P<0.0001)和80dB(P<0.0001)时有显著改善,且这些结果在长期随访中是稳定的。

最后,研究人员指出,VSB耦合到RW是一种安全的植入方法,适用于传导性或混合性听力损失的患者。听力改善情况在长期随访达74个月时是稳定的。修正率与胆脂瘤的病理有直接关系,因此,该类特殊人群需要对潜在的并发症进行额外的咨询。
