江北三星医院的Chan-Won Kim博士认为,睡眠不足是当今导致民众身体状况不佳并出现可视性疾病(如心肌梗塞)的重要原因之一。

既往研究表明,睡眠时间太长或不足都会增加民众患心血管疾病(CVD)的风险。然而,研究人员对睡眠和心血管疾病风险之间的关系并不是十分了解。因此他们开始着手评估个人的心血管健康状况与睡眠质量之间的关联。一共47309名年轻人和中年人参与了调查,他们主要接受关于睡眠时间和睡眠质量评估——睡眠问卷调查。此外,研究人员对每个参与者进行了体检,以评估他们冠状动脉钙化和动脉硬化的情况。 

机体冠状动脉中钙的存在表明了早期冠状动脉病变的存在。研究人员主要观察参与者上臂到脚踝动脉脉冲的速度以评估动脉硬化的程度。 

研究表明,睡眠不足的民众机体冠状动脉钙含量提高。睡眠时间不足5个小时/天的民众比睡眠时间为7小时/天的民众冠状动脉钙含量高50%;同样,睡眠时间为9小时/天或以上的参与者冠脉钙含量比7小时/天的民众高70%。睡眠质量差的民众比睡眠质量好的民众冠脉钙含量高20%。在评估民众动脉硬化程度时,研究人员发现了类似的结果。此外,睡眠不足同民众血压和血糖代谢等也有关系。

因此,从研究中我们可以看出,每天睡眠时长为7个小时且睡眠质量较好的民众患心血管疾病的风险最低。

既往研究表明,睡眠时间不足且睡眠质量差会导致民众患非酒精性脂肪肝病的风险增加,这表示,睡眠方式可影响民众血管中的脂肪沉积,并导致心血管疾病的发生。 

他们承认,这项研究主要是依据民众的自诉得知他们的睡眠时间,而睡眠不足也可能同时反映了其他潜在健康问题,此为实验的局限之处。但是,这项研究毫无疑问向我们传达了睡眠对于心血管健康的重要性。
