此前数百项研究已显示,锻炼可以降低结肠癌、乳腺癌、子宫内膜癌的风险。但由于许多研究中的参与人数较少,一直无法得出确定性结论。

在新研究中,美国国家癌症研究所等机构的研究人员分析了欧美144万人的情况。这些人被平均追踪11年,平均每周运动约150分钟,运动方式有步行、跑步与游泳等,这与美国卫生机构建议的时间差不多。研究期间,18.7万人罹患癌症。

这项研究共分析了26种癌症,结果显示,锻炼程度排在前10%的人与排在后10%的人相比,有7种癌症风险降低至少20%,分别是食管腺癌(降低42%)、肝癌(27%)、肺癌(26%)、肾癌(23%)、贲门癌(22%)、子宫内膜癌(21%)与骨髓性白血病(20%)。

还有6种癌症风险也有所降低,包括骨髓瘤(17%)、结肠癌(16%)、头颈癌(15%)、直肠癌(13%)、膀胱癌(13%)与乳腺癌(10%)。

由于另有13种癌症风险未见明显降低,研究人员分析后指出,总体来讲,积极锻炼会把癌症风险降低约7%。

值得注意的是,在13种通过锻炼能降低风险的癌症中,有10种风险降低与减肥无关,这说明癌症风险降低的机制可能与减肥无关。而肺癌风险降低只见于烟民或已戒烟的人。

领导研究的美国国家癌症研究所的史蒂文•穆尔在一份声明中说,众所周知,在闲暇时间参加锻炼有助降低心脏病和死亡风险,但这项研究显示,锻炼能降低许多癌症的风险。因此,医务人员“应积极宣传,运动是健康生活方式与预防癌症的一部分”。
