如今,一个国际科学家小组取得了一些突破。在动物身上,在缺氧到20到40秒内,大脑进入一个“省电模式”,在那里它变得不活跃,神经元停止交流。几分钟后,大脑开始打破细胞内离子梯度和波的传播,电化学能量在皮层和大脑的其他区域的扩散,最终导致不可逆的脑损伤。

来自柏林医科大学的研究人员在九例严重脑损伤中监控到这一过程,“循环停止后,去极化的电化学能量存储扩展标志着脑细胞,最终导致死亡的中毒发病过程的损失,重要的是,当循环恢复时,它是可逆的。”

通过使用硬膜下电极片和脑内电极阵列检测技术,研究人员监测了病人的大脑传播的去极化作用,他们认为这不是一个单向。

这一发现,对于因脑缺血或其他类型的中风而面临脑损伤或死亡风险的患者来说,这些发现有一天可以挽救生命,不过研究人员解释称还需要做更多的工作。
