Sci Trans Med:新黑科技——10秒钟测出癌症,准确率将近百分之百

一组来自德克萨斯大学奥斯汀分校的科学家们发明了一种强大的工具,可以快速而准确地在手术过程中识别癌组织,交付结果大约10秒中,比现有技术快150倍。名为MasSpec笔的设备是一种创新的手持设备,可以让外科医生在几秒钟之内准确判断出癌变组织,帮助提高治疗效果,并减少癌症复发的可能性。研究结果发表在近期出版的《科学转化医学》杂志上。

在报道中,研究人员指出:“谈起癌症手术,最成功的就是切除所有的癌变组织,但是现实却是绝望的,我们的技术可以大大提高成功的几率,帮助外科医生快速识别每一个病灶位置。”

目前运用在手术中最先进方法称为冰冻切片分析,这一过程非常缓慢,而且有时还不够准确。每个样本需要30多分钟才能出结果,这就增加了病人的感染风险和麻醉的负面影响。对于某些类型的癌症,冰冻切片的解释是困难的,使判断的准确性大打折扣。

然而,在此次试验中,通过MasSpec笔测试的253名癌症患者中,平均时长为10秒钟,准确率超过了96%。此项技术也能够发现癌症边际地区正常和癌症组织的混合细胞。团队预计今年将开始测试新技术,预计在2018年应用于手术中。

研究人员总结称:“外科医生的职责就是为病人提供更精确的手术,手术需要更快,更安全,这是我们想做的事。”
