自体嗅粘膜移植改善实验性脊髓损伤

  该研究评估了一组脊髓损伤的狗体内来自嗅粘膜培养(平均约含50%的嗅鞘细胞)的细胞脊髓内移植的效果,而这种狗的模型可以准确模拟许多从实验室到临床转化中可能潜在的障碍。一组有严重慢性胸腰段脊髓损伤的狗(相当于人类损伤12个月后ASIA分级为“A”级)被纳入这项随机双盲临床试验中,这些狗被分配接受来自嗅黏膜培养的脊髓自体细胞注射或仅仅只注射细胞移植介质。

  实验结果发现接受嗅粘膜细胞移植的狗前后协调能力优于仅接受细胞移植介质的狗。但两组狗之间长束功能的评估没有显著差异。

  研究者总结道,椎管内的嗅粘膜细胞移植可改善脊髓受损区域之间的联系,即使是在慢性损伤的个体中。但并没有发现同时可改善长束功能的证据。
