结果,在随访期间,22名(2.4%)受试者患有COPD。与无/轻度牙周炎患者相比,重度牙周炎患者发生COPD的风险明显增加(RR = 3.55; 95%置信区间[CI],1.18至10.67),但无/轻度和中度之间没有明显差异(RR = 1.48; 95%CI,0.56至3.90)。校正潜在的混杂因素后,包括吸烟强度,严重牙周炎与COPD风险之间的关系仍然显著(RR = 3.51; 95%CI,1.15至10.74)。同样,牙周炎严重程度与COPD风险呈正相关(趋势P = 0.043)。由牙周炎引起的COPD PAF为22.6%。
