研究流程
确定了436名符合2010年或2017年McDonald标准的MS患者,他们居住在大霍巴特,其中包括2009年发现的患者(199人),2009-2019年出现症状的患者(125人),2009-2019年诊断的患者,但在2009年之前出现症状的患者(48人),移民的患者(60人),以及2009年错过的4人。2019年的年龄标准化患病率为147.2/10万(95%可信区间126.5至171.3),比2009年的99.6/10万患病率增加了48%。MS发病的年龄标准化发病率也显著增加,从2001-2009年的3.7/10万人年增加到6.1/10万人年(95%可信区间4.7至7.9)。MS诊断的发病率为7.7/10万(95%可信区间6.7至9.0),持续标准化至7.6(95%可信区间6.1至9.6)。另一方面,死亡率继续下降,从2001-2009年的1.0/10万人年下降到这里的0.9/10万人年(95%可信区间0.4到1.7)。女性:男性患病率性别比为2.8,与2009年的值(2.6)相当;发病率性别比(2.9)从2001年增加到(2.1)。

霍巴特的MS患病率和发病率继续显著增加,死亡率显著降低,病例寿命延长。特别值得注意的是,发病率的显著增加可能反映了多发性硬化症风险行为的长期变化,包括日照、肥胖率和吸烟行为的变化,尤其是在女性中。死亡率下降有助于延长寿命和患病率,这可能反映了多发性硬化症整体医疗保健的改善和疾病改良治疗的实施。
