经常进行体育活动是降低糖尿病患病风险的一种非常有效的方法。但是病人应答的方式存在很多不同。运动干预研究曾经发现每5名参与者中就有1人无法获得体育活动带来的积极代谢影响。
由Cora Weigert教授领导的研究团队对其中的原因进行了研究。文章第一作者Anja解释道:“所有参与者患2型糖尿病的风险都非常高,而运动干预的目的在于提高他们的胰岛素敏感性降低糖尿病患病风险。在干预之前所有参与者都不会经常进行体育活动。”
研究人员对骨骼肌中的分子变化进行了检测。他们发现虽然在胰岛素敏感性得到提高的参与者的肌肉中,运动对参与糖脂代谢的重要基因的积极影响非常明显,但是“无应答者”们并没有得到改善,反而许多基因受到了抑制。
研究人员对“无应答者”的肌肉进行分析发现TGF-beta在运动后发生了激活,他们利用人类骨骼肌细胞进行实验证实TGF-beta抑制了参与糖脂代谢的重要基因的表达,降低了胰岛素敏感性。
“现在我们仍在努力去了解引起这些参与者肌肉中TGF-beta激活的原因,一些证据表明根据个体应答体育活动的能力制定不同强度不同时长的活动计划可以帮助预防糖尿病。”Weigert教授这样说道,她还指出她认为根据每个人的情况制定合适的运动计划,每个人都能够降低糖尿病风险。
