NAT COMMUN:线粒体控制伤口愈合和肿瘤生长过程中的血管生成

在这里,研究人员评估了线粒体生物能对新生血管的影响,其通过在小鼠ECs中特异性地删除编码细胞色素c氧化酶(COX)组装因子cox10的基因,为血管受限性呼吸不足提供了一个模型。

研究人员表明,EC特异性cox10敲除导致血管发育缺陷,造成胚胎致死。在成年小鼠中,诱导EC特异性cox10基因缺失不会产生明显的表型。然而,在有能量需求的情况下,COX缺失的ECs的血管生成能力是严重受损的,表现出显著延迟的伤口愈合和受损的肿瘤生长。

总之,本研究为新血管生成时,血管内皮细胞在发育、组织修复和癌症过程中对线粒体呼吸的需求提供了遗传证据。
