JNNP:纳尼?!结婚,竟能降低患痴呆的风险

对已婚人士来说,这绝对是一项好消息;但对单身人士,这肯定是又一次“伤害”……

11月28日,发表在Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry杂志上的一项研究证实,结婚可能会降低患痴呆的风险。研究人员表示,尽管单身状态可能不再像过去那样严重危害健康,但终身单身人士和鳏夫(widowers)患痴呆症的风险更高

这一发现是基于截止2016年年底发表的15项相关研究中的数据。这些研究旨在调查婚姻状态对痴呆风险的潜在影响,涉及了来自欧洲、北美、南美和亚洲的80多万参与者。具体来说,被纳入调查的这些研究对象中,已婚人士所占比例在28%至80%之间;鳏居人士(the widowed)的比例在8%到48%之间;离婚人士的比例在0%到16%之间;终身单身人士的比例在0%到32.5 %之间。

对这些数据的汇总分析显示,与已婚人士相比,在考虑了年龄和性别后,终身单身的人患痴呆症的风险要高出42%。研究人员表示,导致这种风险的一部分原因可能是由于终身单身人士身体健康状况较差。

同时,与已婚人士相比,鳏居人士(the widowed)患痴呆症的几率要高出20%。不过,当考虑到教育程度时,这种关联的强度会有所减弱。研究人员指出,丧亲之痛可能会增加压力水平,这与神经信号和认知能力受损有关。

此外,这项研究并未得出“离婚人士患痴呆风险会增加”这一关联。研究人员认为,这可能部分归因于研究中所包括的离婚人士数量较少。

需要强调的是,这些结果是基于观察性研究,因此没有关于因果关系的确切结论。不过,研究者们为“他们的发现”提出了一些解释。他们认为,婚姻可能会帮助伴侣双方拥有更健康的生活方式,包括多运动、健康饮食、少抽烟、少喝酒,这些都与降低患痴呆症的风险有关。同时,夫妻可能比单身人士具有更多社交的机会,这一因素也与更好的健康和较低的痴呆症风险有关。

在一篇相关的社论中,来自新加坡国立大学的Christopher Chen以及来自香港中文大学的Vincent Mok建议,应该将婚姻状态添加到“可修改的痴呆风险因素”列表中。他们强调,现在的挑战是,如何将这些观察性研究转化为有效的预防痴呆症的方法。
