Nature aging:雾霾伤脑,阿司匹林或可防

PM2.5的短期暴露会损伤老龄男性人群的认知功能,非甾体抗炎药,尤其是阿司匹林,对这种损伤能够起到预防的作用。

空气污染,尤其是细颗粒物(PM2.5),可能会损害认知能力,有研究发现,PM2.5的长期暴露可以造成脑容量减少、认知功能减退和痴呆-短暂性脑缺血发作等问题。但其短期影响尚不清楚。

Xu Gao等在Nature Aging发表研究文章。研究PM2.5短期暴露与老年人认知功能损伤之间的关系。

首先该研究团队调查了波士顿地区环境中短期(28天)的PM2.5水平,炭黑水平以及暴露人群的认知功能。研究了PM2.5与954名白人男性认知表现(全球认知功能和简易心理状态检查(MMSE)评分)的短期相关性,并进一步探讨了服用非甾体抗炎药(NSAIDs)是否可以改变他们的关系。

研究发现PM2.5和碳黑的浓度在不同暴露窗口之间均有很好的相关性。PM2.5暴露浓度越高,GCF和MMSE得分越低,MMSE得分低的几率越大,说明PM2.5的短期暴露会损伤老龄男性人群的认知功能。

PM2.5浓度较低时,随着PM2.5水平的改变,认知能力改变较明显。在PM2.5浓度较高时,认知损伤情况相对稳定。在低浓度暴露下,认知能力损伤随着炭黑浓度变化显著改变,而高浓度炭黑暴露下,认知功能损伤的改变并不太显著。

使用非甾体抗炎药的患者与不使用非甾体抗炎药的患者相比,这种不良反应减弱了。说明非甾体抗炎药可能有助于改善短期PM2.5暴露导致的认知功能损伤。非甾体抗炎药,尤其是阿司匹林,对这种损伤能够起到预防的作用。
