结缔组织生长因子(CTGF),也被称为CCN2,是一种有效的趋化因子和细胞外基质诱导的母细胞蛋白质,参与炎症和纤维增殖性疾病的进展。大量新的证据表明CTGF/CCN2是参与心脏疾病发生发展的促硬化因子。近日,糖尿病领域权威杂志Diabetes Care上发表了一篇研究文章,研究人员旨在通过退伍军人事务糖尿病试验(VADT)队列来明确CTGF/CCN2作为2型糖尿病心血管事件预测因子的作用。
952名VADT患者在进入研究后中位时间为1.9年后测量了CTGF/CCN2的水平。参加者的平均随访时间为3.3年。 CTGF/CCN2分类为可检出值下限(参考值为54.5%),低于可检出值的一半(22.8%)和高于可检出值的一半(22.7%)。研究人员通过Cox比例风险模型计算了与CTGF/CCN2类别有关的心血管终点的风险比(HR)。
随访期间,4.8%的患者发生心肌梗死(MI),6.9%的患者发生MI或心血管死亡,6.9%的患者发生死亡。经过调整常规危险因素后,CTGF/CCN2分类最高的患者发生MI(风险比为2.43[95%可信区间为1.15-5.14])、MI或心血管死亡(风险比为2.71[95%可信区间为1.44-5.08] )和全因死亡(风险比为2.70 [95%可信区间为1.43-5.08])的风险更高,相比于CTGF低于可检出下限的个体。
由此可见,该研究表明高水平的CTGF/CCN2可预测2型糖尿病患者未来的MI和心血管死亡风险。
