21医疗中心的研究人员在五年内跟踪调查了358名严重的主动脉瓣狭窄患者。患者的平均年龄83岁,他们被均匀地被分为两个研究组——接受微创经导管主动脉瓣替换(TAVR)手术组和标准疗法组,标准疗法包括主动脉球囊瓣膜成形术,但不做外科手术。

研究表明,接受TAVR术的人群寿命更长,有较好的身体反应,他们中的复发病例非常少而且有更好的身体功能状态。五年后,接受TAVR组的有28.2%的人还活着,而标准治疗组只有6.4%的人存活。

“因为一组病人不接受主动脉瓣置换治疗,而药物单独治疗严重主动脉瓣狭窄患者牵涉到违反道义的伦理问题。所以该实验是第一个,也可能是唯一的一次随机主动脉瓣狭窄试验。”医学博士Samir Kapadia说。

主动脉瓣狭窄是最常见的心脏瓣膜疾病,它会导致主动脉瓣不完全打开以及减少心脏的血流量。几十年来,主动脉瓣置换术被认为是黄金标准治疗法,尽管许多老年患者在他们80岁和90岁时被认为病重或过于虚弱而不能接受严格的手术治疗。对于那些病人,TAVR便成为一种优势选择。这项研究是首次对TAVR疗法与标准疗法的五年研究结果进行比较。
