研究人员一直关注运动对饮食影响的研究。先前的结果表明,体育运动可以促使我们选择更健康的食物。但是Lee和她的研究团队指出,这些研究都没有关注运动对饮食影响在两性之间的差异。

Lee说:“由于大多数研究都忽略了女性,因此我们想研究运动是如何影响女性的饮食习惯。我们想要弄清到底是什么因素驱动了饮食偏好,包括体育运动在内的环境因素是否在男性和女性的饮食中发挥重要作用?”

运动 vs 静坐

研究团队对雌性和雄性小鼠进行了研究,他们把小鼠分为两个雌雄混合组:一组置于跑步机(运动组),另一组至于静止的平面(静坐组)。

在研究的第一周,两组小鼠都食用相同的标准食物。在第二周,小鼠们有了三种饮食选择:高脂类食物、高糖类食物、高淀粉类食物。三种饮食都含有等量的蛋白质。

在测试的4周内,每只小鼠有可以自由地从这三种食物中进行选择。

研究人员发现,静坐组的雌性和雄性小鼠都偏爱高脂类食物。而在运动组中,雄性小鼠的饮食偏好发生改变,而雌性小鼠则没有。即运动组中的雌性小鼠仍然偏好高脂类食物,而雄性小鼠则减少了高脂类食物的摄入,增加了对高糖和高淀粉食物的摄入。

Lee 说:“我们本想找到运动和静坐小鼠之间的差异,却意外地发现了性别之间的差异。”

消化系统和大脑的差异

在评估每组小鼠的粪便样本时(样本来自研究开始前和研究进行4周后),研究人员发现运动组中雌性和雄性小鼠的肠道微生物存在差异。这暗示了对于不同性别小鼠来说,肠道微生物在运动对饮食的影响中起到作用。

此外,通过分析运动组小鼠的大脑发现,在不同性别的小鼠中,与奖赏相关的阿片样物质(Reward-related Opioid)的mRNA表达存在差异。

Lee说:“雌性小鼠大脑中表现出更强的奖赏信号,这或许可以解释为什么雌性对奖赏的期望值更高”

她补充说,跑步可以使雄性消除饥饿,但对于雌性则不然,这会促使雌性小鼠选择高脂类食物。

综上所述,运动对雌性和雄性的饮食偏好的影响差异显着。

“通过行为和生理指标观察到的不同性别对体育运动响应的显着差异表明了两性之间身体的新陈代谢是不同的。”

研究团队总结道:“该研究强调了进一步研究体育运动与饮食行为的相关性在两性之间的差异是非常有必要的。”
