Steroids:研究揭示导致高血压的又一“罪魁祸首”,开启治疗新方案

在一些研究中,科学家们发现当肠道细菌与抗生素被杀死时,高血压患者的血压就会有所下降。当把高血压患者体内的肠道细菌移植到正常小鼠体内时,就会诱发高血压。但是直到现在,科学家还没有发现一种机制来解释细菌能够增加血液压力。

来自伊利诺伊大学和布朗大学的研究人员首次发现一种酶的基因,这种酶存在于特定的细菌中,它们负责把皮质醇,类固醇激素转化为雄激素类固醇。研究人员进一步发现,当细菌分解雄激素时,一种称为GALF分子的最终产品就会破坏调节钠运输到人类肾脏细胞的过程。当这种情况发生时,细胞内钠建立,血压也会随之上升。

为了维持正常的血压,一个特定的受体会结合称为醛固酮的分子,进入细胞核,引起一连串的反应,其最终产品是负责管理正常蛋白质钠和钾运输进出细胞。但受体可以被愚弄,绑定到皮质醇,代替醛固酮。如果出现这种情况,患者会出现明显的盐皮质激素过剩(AME),进入超光速的级联反应。钠的进口速度比它的导出速度快得多,因此细胞开始膨胀成为了高血压的又一个危险标志。

新发现发表于《卫报》上,新的研究有望帮助研究人员找到对抗高血压的新出口。
