JCI:帕金森氏症细胞替代疗法的新突破

2014年8月25日讯 /生物谷BIOON/--帕金森氏症影响全球数百万人,起因于神经元的损失。研究发现移植胎儿组织在恢复神经元的损失中显露出“才华”,但该组织的来源和使用伦理问题限制其运用。

在杂志Journal of Clinical Investigation研究中,圣拉斐尔科学研究所Vania Broccoli等人成功将成纤维细胞转化为神经元,并“嫁接”到帕金森病啮齿动物的大脑中。

这些神经元细胞改善运动功能,但功效不及移植大鼠胎儿组织。然后,研究人员使用一种技术,让神经元表达工程蛋白(这些蛋白能调节神经元的活动)。结果发现这些神经元恢复运动功能的功效几乎与移植胚胎组织一样。

新研究提示:成纤维细胞或可用于帕金森氏症的细胞替代疗法。
