同样,研究人员还发现,随着男性年龄的不断增长,他们的身体细胞中会产生Y染色体损失现象。但这种现象一直被视为机体正常衰老的一部分。
例如,在2014年的一项研究中,Forsberg 和他的研究团队发现,老年男性群体中,Y染色体损失更严重的男性,与正常男性相比,前者面临更高的癌症风险,并且他们的寿命往往更短。
不过,研究人员表示,为了深入探究Y染色体与疾病风险之间的联系,还需要进行更多的实验。例如,在Y染色体损失前,对其进行“生物标记”,结合后期研究来探究Y染色体损失对阿尔茨海默氏症患病风险的影响机制,Giliberto 表示。
