近期发表在JAHA上的一项澳大利亚研究显示,经常吃蔬菜,有助于延缓老年女性颈动脉粥样硬化,尤其是十字花科蔬菜。
 
这也是少有的几项探讨不同蔬菜对亚临床动脉粥样硬化潜在影响的研究。结果表明,十字花科蔬菜,比如西兰花、菜花、卷心菜和紫甘蓝效果最佳。
 
研究显示,每日食用≥10 g十字花科蔬菜,平均颈动脉壁厚度减小0.8%。
 
而且,即使校正了生活方式、心血管危险因素(包括药物治疗)以及其他类型蔬菜摄入以及饮食因素后,十字花科蔬菜对颈动脉厚度的保护作用依旧“闪闪发光”。
 
研究者还发现,进食蔬菜最多者与不吃蔬菜者相比,颈动脉壁厚度减小了0.05 mm。
 
“这项研究可能很有意义,因为颈动脉壁厚度每减少0.1 mm,脑卒中和心脏病发作风险就降低10%~18%。”研究者说。
 
研究者指出,虽然这项观察性研究不足以确立十字花科蔬菜和颈动脉保护作用的因果关系,但饮食指南应该强调多食十字花科蔬菜对血管疾病预防的重要性。
 
这项研究共对954位≥70岁澳大利亚女性的饮食情况和颈动脉壁厚度以及颈动脉粥样斑块严重程度进行了分析。
 
其中吃菜水平分为“从不吃蔬菜”到“每日≥3次”。蔬菜包括十字花科蔬菜、葱类(包括洋葱、大蒜、韭菜和葱)、黄色/橘色/红色蔬菜、绿叶菜和豆类。
