期刊简介

It is a principal aim of the Journal to conform to the highest possible scientific and technical standards. Nordic Hydrology publishes articles within all fields of hydrology in its widest sense. While emphasis is placed on studies of the hydrological cycle, the Journal also covers the physics and chemistry of water. Nordic Hydrology is a link between the basic hydrological research and the practical application of scientific results within the broad field of water management. The focus of the journal is on the hydrological cycle and related natural processes like precipitation, snowmelt, evapotranspiration, infiltration, percolation, groundwater flow, runoff production, streamflow, floods, droughts, sediments, lakes, and fate of constituents transported by the water. Equally important is the assessment and management of water resources as exemplified by water abstraction from aquifers and reservoirs and the subsequent multifaceted water use (domestic and industrial water supply, irrigation, hydropower, navigation, recreation, etc.). Deliberate as well as inadvertent anthropogenic impacts on the hydrological cycle are main subjects for the journal. Sustainable water use and efforts to restore ecologically important rivers and wetlands are areas of growing importance as is the impact of natural climate variability and human induced climate change. Special areas of interest for Nordic Hydrology include snow and ice hydrology.
