In condensed reports permanent columnists deal with important questions and problems concerning everyday political issues on health and pharmaceutics. With the headline "Public Health and Pharmaceutics, Industry and Society" not only current topics from areas such as testing, registration and approval, trade marks, patents, law and rights, GMP/GLP/GCP, marketing, business and applied economics are dealt with. Besides general problems of health care and pharmaceutics, particular attention is paid to issues related to the EU ("europharm®"). In addition, special comprehensive reports from nearly all fields affecting the pharmaceutical industry are published. Furthermore, for marketing and scientific purposes information on disclosed pharmaceutical patent submissions is given. "Science and Technology" considers scientific and technical papers from university, industry, and other institutions. It covers original studies, reviews, conference reports, and technical issues relating to the following fields: synthesis, analysis, formulation, production, packaging, transport and storage, biopharmacy, pharmacokinetics, purity and quality of drugs, manufacturing hygiene, microbiology, GMP, installations and equipment for production processes and analytical procedures, design and organisation of facilities. In addition, short reports on new products and procedures are published. The annual "Award for Pharma Technics" supports outstanding contributions in the field of pharmaceutical science and technology. The journal publishes articles in German or in English. Summaries, as a rule, appear in both languages (bi-lingual abstracts are mandatory for original papers and reviews in "Science and Technology").
